Leslie Halliwell's Film Guide
George joins the home guard, adequate star comedy.

Perhaps this could be regarded as a forerunner to the famed BBC "Dad's Army" series which was shown 30 years later? One of the better Columbia films although the atmosphere is spoilt by the silhouette of the chap sitting
in the cinema and talking to George on screen - silly.
