A prospective heir's escapades as he searches for
a fortune in money and jewels in a set of seven chairs which have
been sold separately at auction. This famous comedy scene theme was
subsequently reworked in "It's In The Bag" with Fred Allen,
and in "The Twelve Chairs" with Ron Moody and Mel Brooks.
"Formby of Wigan funny enough to amuse sophisticated West End
audiences"
Reginald J. Whitby, Film critic, Daily Mirror.

The little girl in this film was a special guest one
of the Society conventions last year and still holds many fond memories
of this film and of working with George.
Florence Desmond was retained for this film after the great success
of "No Limit". Only two songs! Both good one's though and
of course one of them is amongst George's greatest hits, "The
Window Cleaner".
The wooden ukulele which George used to sing 'Window Cleaner' is now
owned by Honorary Society member, John Walley.
