In this very special 50th anniversary year of the birth of The George Formby Society we wish to announce that we will be going racing again at Haydock Park Racecourse on Tuesday, 13th September 2011 when amongst other races, The George Formby Society Golden Jubilee Stakes will be run over seven furlongs.
George Formby was of course closely associated with the turf and after the last very successful gathering at Haydock Park in 2009 we are happy to once again be sharing our special anniversary with "the sport of kings."
If GFS members wish to attend, there is a special 2 for 1 discount which they can obtain and will admit them into either Tattersalls (£12 for 2) or County (£24 for 2).

Our President Gerry Mawdsley and his wife Vivien will be making the presentations to the owner, trainer and jockey of the horse that wins our Golden Jubilee race.
Racing starts at 14:30 and our Golden Jubilee race will commence at 16:00.
