On behalf of the George Formby Society Committee I would like to wish everyone a safe and healthy 2021. This year has obviously been a major disappointment on all fronts and we can only look forward with hope and optimism to much brighter times ahead. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Suzanne, Simon, Andrew, Matthew and Peter for their devotion since March in providing the wonderful daily Zoom thrash sessions thus carrying the flag for our beloved society during these frustrating and worrying times. The concept and enactment of these sessions has been a truly incredible achievement as proven by the interest of new enthusiasts and even the media. I know that for many people these sessions have been invaluable as both a social and musical lifeline and have provided a wonderful opportunity for friends to keep in touch in a group environment. Please be assured that the committee have also been holding our scheduled meetings abeit via Zoom with the intention of keeping up the momentum and the behind the scenes running of the society. As soon as this unfortunate situation is behind us and demoted to history we will once again be able to meet old friends at a Blackpool convention and start off where we left way back in November 2019!
