DEDICATIONS TO eddie

Peter Kirby

One of my dearest friends and a true gentleman of charm, wit and talent. Our love and prayers to Dale and his family. The world feels a little more empty this morning. Rest in Peace, my friend x

Pat Silcock

Eddie was a wonderful friend with a great sense of humour. He was a highly talented but unassuming man with a lovely gentle and charming personality. He will be greatly missed by so many. We are shocked and devastated by his loss and of course, our thoughts are with Dale and the family. May this wonderful man Rest in Peace.

Frances Lister

What a shock hearing of Eddie's death yesterday. He was a lovely man with a great sense of humour and wit. He will be sadly missed by so many. Our thoughts are with Dale and the family. x

Gill Walley

So sorry. He will be greatly missed. A very clever man whose expertise will not be seen again. We have lost a very good friend and send our thoughts and condolences to Dale and his family xx

Stuart Lowther

This is such terrible news. We can all see through all the comments flooding in what a true gentleman and treasure Eddie was. I have so many fond memories with Dale and Ed, my heart goes out to Dale and the rest of the family. Ed always said he wasn't ready to go anywhere yet and that each morning he woke was a pleasure, to hop out of bed and get back into the workshop. A huge loss to the GFS and the world of stringed instruments has lost a master lutheir.

Michael McTigue

Can’t believe what I’m reading here what a lovely fella and one of the best people to know about a uke from head to toe condolences go out to all his family may he rest in peace

Sally Fletcher-Bennett

Fly high Eddie xxxx. So very sad. Much love to Dale xxxx

Andy Bibby

I’m shocked and deeply heartfelt by this news. Eddie was so friendly and open to share with me so much about luthiery. I learnt so much from him. My GFS convention highlight was to pick his mind at Blackpool. I have all Eddies family in my thoughts x

Gerry George

Eddie isn't dead; rather he has just stepped on the next fret of God's Golden UK-Fretboard and *Tonic So Far* to Paradise ! Our Heavenly Father doesn't ditch the fabulous Models that he makes - in his own image and likeness - but rather lifts their undying souls even-higher than ever before ! He is an all- singing, all-melody-making instrument-of-endless Creativity; as distinct from one of destruction ! Eddie Uttley's lovingly-made *means-of-mending musical instruments* may die, but the melodies he generates - while repairing them - lingers-on; like...forever !

Dave Barnes

Heard this news last night. So upset to hear it. Eddie and I go back many years. We did research together regarding lacquers exchanging ideas on luthier craft and imported uke cases from the USA. Absolute wonderful luthier and gentleman. I was so fortunate to have known him. My thoughts are with his family. RIP Eddie.

John Taylor

Very sad to hear of this. Eddie was a lovely genuine man and a superb luthier. The workmanship he performed on some of my instruments including a full restoration on a post war Abbott Monarch was nothing short of top draw. Eddie will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. My condolences to his family and friends
