Great PR job by GFS member
BBC RADIO STOKE
Long-term GFS member Jon Baddeley gave a nice plug for both for the Society and also
for the GF Virtual Thrash group this morning when he appeared on the BBC Radio
Stoke and chatted with Stuart George on Stuart's Mid-Morning show.
GREAT JOB FOR THE GFS
They chatted about World Ukulele Day, the popularity of the banjo-ukulele, George
Formby, the wonderful Royal Albert Hall weekend in 2018, Jon also skilfully introduced
the Virtual Thrash Zoomers. In short, Jon did a great job for the GFS and the Zoom
group.
THIRTIETH YEAR GFS MEMBERSHIP
This loyal GFS member celebrates thirty years of GFS membership this year and rarely
misses a Blackpool convention. He is also regular contributor to the Society’s quarterly
magazine, The Vellum.
AUTHORITY On FORMBY RECORDS
Versatile Jon also supports the GFS Jazz Band on clarinet and is a leading authority on
the recording career of George Formby.
The way he handled today’s interview suggests to me that the GFS could do a lot worse
than ask Jon to handle all future media interviews.
Listen to Jon’s Radio Stoke interview on The Stuart
George Mid-Morning Show.
