Goathland 2022
£1240 for MNDA
Even though many of us have attended past Grosmont/Goathland meetings, all with a good charitable aim, it is always nice to go back again, especially after a two-year lockdown to meet once again in Goathland. This year's event was held in The Hut which is a well-appointed modern building quite near to the venue of the last meeting, The Inn on The Moor hotel. The hotel is a popular base for anyone visiting Goathland and is highly recommended. The day commenced around noon with friends just gathering and chatting. Various items were placed on a table for a Grand Raffle with the organiser of the event, Caroline Stewart busily selling raffle tickets to the assembled company. This year's charitable aim was the continuance of the work to raise funds for The MNDA and that was nicely achieved when Caroline announced on Saturday evening that contributions both before and on the day had realised almost £1240. We had some good entertainment throughout the day and outside the sun shone and Goathland beckoned but we all stayed within the premises and enjoyed the good company and the good entertainment. We have enjoyed larger attendances in the past but of course, we are still under the shadow of Covid and that will continue for quite a long time to come.
