November Convention – Nottingham - 07 November 2026
With the forthcoming November Convention taking place on 7 November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham, members may wish to take advantage of the hotel’s pre-order food service. The hotel has provided a menu offering a range of food options that can be ordered in advance of the event. If you would like to enjoy a meal at the hotel, you will need to contact the Crowne Plaza directly and place your order before the Convention. Please note that members will be unable to order food on the day of the event. This provides members with a convenient way to arrange their food in advance and enjoy a meal at the hotel without having to make additional arrangements on the day. For those who prefer to explore Nottingham, the Crowne Plaza is also within easy walking distance of the city’s main shopping area, where there is a wide choice of cafés, restaurants and other places to eat and visit. The smoke-free Crowne Plaza Nottingham is located about 10 minutes walk from the Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery. The
hotel has a concert hall seating 250 people, and a ballroom for various purposes.
The four-star hotel offers a swimming pool along with a treatment room and a jacuzzi, and boasts a location in close proximity to the Old
Market Square.
Staying at this Nottingham hotel, you may choose from one of the 210 rooms featuring a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, as well as
essentials such as ironing equipment and air conditioning.
Also provided are a laptop-compatible safe, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The bathrooms come with a separate toilet and a shower,

tuition throughout the day. For members and other visitors who wish to visit
the shopping centre it is within a five-minute walk from the concert room
and hotel facilities are second to none.
This is a great opportunity for the GFS to develop and gain publicity, attract
new members, and bring the music of George Formby to a new audience.
Everyone is welcome to join the GFS at our November

George Formby is still so well known for his banjo-uke playing, he
also enjoyed the wooden ukulele and used it in some of his
twenty two films.
