Talking Pictures TV marked the end of one year and the beginning of the next with a look back at their road-shows, and
they featured our lads and lasses when they all descended on the Hebden Bridge cinema in 2024 to play their part in the
weekend’s entertainment. It is gratifying to think that, after sixty-five years, we are still entertaining television audiences
across the United Kingdom.
The New Year’s show was hosted by Mike Reid and Noel Cronin. We should be grateful for Talking Pictures
TV, which launched on 26 May 2015 (George Formby’s birthday). It now broadcasts twenty-four hours a day,
with weekly viewing figures reputed to be between two and three million.
