I’m delighted to announce that after extensive attempts and enquiries, the Sale Branch of the G.F.S. is about to rise from the ashes phoenix-like and will shortly re-open. The initial meeting will take place at Friday, 12 November 2021. A new venue has been found and reserved at Mersey Valley Sports Club, Banky Lane, Sale. The nearest postcode is M33 5BL. Please note that the postcode given on the net is incorrect. The most reliable information as to the club’s situation is that Banky Lane is very close to the traffic lights at the junction of Carrington Spur and the A6144, Sale. Mike Rotheram will be the new branch leader and I feel sure we are all indebted to Mike for his willingness to devote his time and energy to running what I believe is the oldest branch of the G.F.S. in the country. Three loud cheers for Mike, George would be proud of him! He will of course have members around him to help with the many tasks necessary to run the club so let’s all get behind him on the opening night and make sure it’s a resounding success. As always everyone is welcome so come on, get your ukes tuned up and let’s make it an evening to remember. There will be a raffle and donations of prizes for this would be most welcome.
