I am saddened to learn of the passing of Margaret Royle in December 2019. She was almost certainly the oldest member of our Society. Margaret's husband was the late Cliff Royle who was the publicity officer for North Wales branch for quite a few years and Margaret supported Cliff in all his Formby activities. They would also visit the Crewe and Sale branches and of course, the Blackpool conventions. I met up with Margaret when she celebrated her 100th birthday at the old Chester branch when her close friend Cathy Staniland organised a special birthday meeting. Margaret was sparkling and lively company and interested in all those who attended and really enjoyed a great evening. It was a pleasure and a privilege to chat with this lovely lady.
