Double bill of two of George Formby’s finest films will be shown to mark George’s 114th birthday on 26 May 2018. The cinema in question is the magnificent Stockport Plaza, a cinema that represents the golden era of British cinema. Personally this will be a real treat, just liking going to the ABC Playhouse in Dewsbury in the 1950’s! The films to be shown are probably George’s best film, “LET GEORGE DO IT” and “TURNED OUT NICE AGAIN,” his last film before moving to Columbia Pictures.
