Billy Uke Scott in The Vellum
To acquaint those members who may not be aware of Billy, he was a brilliant ukulele player and a wonderful
songwriter and he worked theatres throughout the United Kingdom between the 1930s right up to the 1970s.
He was an honorary member of the Society and a regular visitor to the GFS conventions and entertained right
in to the early millennium years.
This song is featured in Summer 2020 issue and for the benefit of those who wish to learn and perform the
song, please have a listen to the wonderful playing and singing of GFS honorary member, the late Alan
Southworth. Alan was a great friend to Billy so I am very happy that Alan had the idea to record some of Billy's
songs and I am delighted to be able to reproduce Alan’s track on this page.
