Llandudno 2025
The George Formby Society returned for the 2025
Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza weekend, once again
entertaining the large holiday crowds with a selection of
George Formby hits.
This reaffirmed that the playing members of the GFS are
uniquely positioned to celebrate one of Britain's greatest
entertainers. George Formby's music continued to captivate
audiences at the annual Llandudno event, where, to the
performing members, these memorable songs are second
nature to all.
Their performances throughout the sunny weekend were
exceptional, and the GFS takes pride in its dedicated
members, who are willing to travel many miles to share
their time and talent in support of this incredible
organisation.
Now sixty-four years old, the Society continues to thrive
and promote the legacy of George Formby.
With the Blackpool conventions, various branches
throughout the UK, and an exciting magazine to look
forward to, the George Formby Society offers a wealth of
opportunities and the best in entertainment for both playing
and non-playing members.

George in Llandudno - Film Star for Arcadia
“BERYL" COMES TO ARCADIA ALSO.
The visit of George Formby to Catlin's .Arcadia is. an .unusual attraction even for Llandudno. It has been arranged by the producer, Mr.
Harry Bright, who, for the last four winters, has co-operated with Mr. Formby in pantomime.
They are, as a matter of fact, to work together again at the Liverpool Empire next winter. Mr. Formby will be accompanied by his wife,
Beryl. Both will attend Saturday night's performance of Catlins' Summer Follies.
During the visit Mr. Formby will auction an autographed photograph of himself and
Tommy Farr, the proceeds to go to the Llandudno and district New Hospital. Mr. Formby
is exceptionally goodhearted and has toured extensively in France and elsewhere at his
own expense to entertain troops.
He has collected £1,600 for the George Formby fund for the dependants of Fleetwood
trawler fishermen.
He has just completed a film and is resting, but in view of his friendship with Mr Bright,
he consented to make this special visit to Llandudno.
Others participating in the concert will be Marion Francis, soprano; Sydney Snape,
baritone; Kittie Prince, leading lady of Catlin's Laughter Parade, and Jack Rickards,
compère.
